* Do I need a referral?
No. Anyone can access psychology services, however, a referral from you GP will enable you to get a Medicare rebate.
* How much does a session cost?
The fee for a 50min consultation is $225.00. With a GP referral you will receive a rebate of $131.65.
* How many sessions do I need?
Everyone is different with the number of sessions they access. This is largely determined by a combination of presenting concerns and therapeutic goals. The number of sessions that you can receive a Medicare rebate for, is capped at 10 per calendar year.
* Is my information confidential?
Anything you say to a psychologist is confidential. However, this confidentiality is not absolute, and there are a number of specific situations in which confidentiality can be breached by the psychologist. These include: immediate threat of harm to self or others, and a court Subpoena.
